Camping Berggruss is located south of the main Alpine ridge, nestled between the Kreuzeck Group in the north and the Gailtal Limestone Alps in the south.

The climate here is extremely mild and Mediterranean due to the warm influx of Mediterranean air from the south (Adriatic currents). The Hohe Tauern mountains block the weather influences from the north.
